I will leave it to Lee and Jerry F to follow up on the ideas they are discussing with you (both approaches WILL work, but there is a bit more that needs to be done (how to log in as "other" or how to deal with files that have spaces in the names when using terminal and sudo) Lee and Jerry are doing well with those so I hate to jump in there 8^) , but in the mean time try one of these to get rid of those nasty un-delete-able files:

Make sure that you turn the super-user back off when you are done!!!! It is a really bad idea to leave this one enabled. (just because!) Quick tip: in NetInfo directly enter * in the password field you see listed, it will turn the account back off and remove the password.
