Another great way to save a ton of time is when you do a Custom install.
Skip all the foreign languages incase you really need them. Thats over a
gig. And then if you only use say Hewallet Pakard Printers uncheck all the
different manufactors and just leave HP checked (Or your desired brand).
This will save alot of space and time. It took me 18 minutes to do the
install of Leopard on the mac pro.

The mini finally finished but it took over an hour and 1/2 and thats without
all those extras I've listed above.

Bummer with Time Machine. I didn't have my usb drive plugged in when I did
the upgrade/install. So I guess I didn't have the problem. When I plugged
the drive in it ask me if I wanted to use it for Time Machine and I told it
yes. Then it started backing up but first I stopped it for I have several
folders I don't need backed up. You can go under System Preferences and tell
it which drives/folders you don't want Time Machine to worry about.
