Hey all,Thanks to someone on the Apple discussions saying that they had no problem, I figured out what my problem was: I had been trying to clone a Tiger from the external disk to the internal disk while Leopard was running.
I started up from the version of Tiger still on the external disk, and then used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the system folder from the running copy of Tiger to my internal hard drive. Now everything is just fine. I can boot from both partitions on the internal drive.
I don't know if the 'clone from a running copy' should be necessary, but it worked here.
