I have a friend who has a PC whose CD drive went out. They told him
at one of those stores that his motherboard went out and since his
computer is 6 years old, they of course wanted to sell him one.
My question to all you knowledgeable people: What actually does a
motherboard do? What would go out if it went kaputt? I am actually
interested myself now. I learned as much that on a Mac they call it a
logic board. But this does not explain anything to me.
Any enlightening answer -- but for a lay person , please.
