Insight just swapped out my old (original) modem for a new one that
supports their upgraded service. I love it--it's boosted or internet
speeds from around the 2 mbps range to 9 mbps. on my G5 and even our
old HP running windows. But I can't get my G4 to connect. We pay for
three IP addresses, and an insight customer service guy said he could
see the G4 on the system and it seemed to be connected. It is running
OS 10.4.11 and had been operating okay with the old modem--and I think
even worked the first night we had the new modem. Insight said when I
pinged, the signal seemed to be getting between the modem and computer
okay, but when it pinged outside the local network, the signal seemed
to disappear. I would appreciate any suggestions--I exhausted the
insight technician's ideas, and he was trying to be helpful. I also
have run disk utility to repair permissions in case it was a software
problem on my mac. HELP!!!!
