well, I was able to get the "Mac OS X Update for Mobile Me" on my macbook on Thursday morning. When I checked using the wife's macbook, no go. I was able to eventually update hers not by using software update, but by using the download link from apple.com.
Now, as to my problem with super slow Push iCal syncing. After checking the Apple.com discussion forums, I read something about a "Mac OS X Update for Mobile Me 1.1" Ran software update, and it showed up on my macbook (I had previously had the 1.0 version installed). After updating, the syncing seems to be MUCH better. Changes on the website appear almost immediately on my desktop iCal and changes on my desktop iCal are only taking a minute or two to be reflected on the web...
