Your reason 2 resonates with me.

I mentioned earlier how Verizon cripples their phones with restrictive firmware. Apple is just as guilty.

If ever a device was crying for a portable Bluetooth keyboard, it's the iPhone. Apple is barring apps from their appStore that use the iPhone's Bluetooth for such things. I have a small Bluetooth keyboard that folds up smaller than most cell phones. I'd be much more tempted by the iPhone, if I could use it.

Another one that disappoints me is how they've crippled the video out on the device. Apple sells a cable for "only" $50 that plugs into the iPhone and iTouch to bring its video out to a TV or projector. But, it won't show photos--just video. I know many people, myself included, who would love to use the iPhone or iTouch as a slide source when giving presentations, but we can't do it because Apple won't let us. It is possible for Apple to do this because The Steve showed pictures during his Stevenote when the iPhone 3G was introduced.
