My trusty iMac 800 17" flat panel (aka Lampshade, also Gooseneck) will not power on. Nothing at all happens when I press the on button. This happened last week when it was so very cold. Our heat went off and it got really cold in my office. After everything was fixed, iMac was dead and would not be revived. (By the way, the PowerPC 9600 which has been on since 1998 except when the power is out fired up immediately.)
I've unplugged it both from the wall and the computer, also tried other outlets. No joy. Is there a battery I should replace/ Or the power supply? Any advice? If not worth the trouble, what kind of hard drive does it have so I will know what enclosure to get for it---sata, esata, ide, etc. Thanks in advance! Ann
