A few questions ago we discussed recording a movie to have saved on
our hard drive. I have been recording on-line training classes so I
could study away from internet connections. The sessions are usually
between 1 hr 14 min. to 1 hr 90 min.

I am using SnapZPro to do the recording and it works marvelously, a
couple caveats. Set your monitor to not go to sleep, and set your
screensaver to remain off. I had to start over twice until I got this
through my thick skull.

Once the recording is complete SnapZPro then goes through and saves
the video, then the next pass is the audio. Oh my gosh, go write
your will and plan your 4 yr. old's wedding. The first time I
completed this it was done before 4:00 in the afternoon. My wife and
I were going out to eat and luckily I have an AC adapter in the car
for once I realized that it wasn't going to be done by the time I left
the office at 5:00 I hooked the MacBook up to the electric in the car
and drove several miles to the restaurant. I left it running and was
inside another 90 min.

Sometime before I returned it had completed and since then I have
recorded two more. It appears that the time to save or render is one
long process. I am using the newest MacBook Pro with 4 gig. of ram
and the iMac at home is also the new model. I can sure see where the
Pro models are needed if you do a lot of this type work.

Also the file size is jumbo to say the least. These time periods
result in files well in excess of 300 meg, the 90 min. was almost 400
meg.
