All the preparation in the world and then you hand them your entire
world!!!!
The reviews on the G-Technology firewire drives was impressive and
with a 3 yr. warraranty I decided to go ahead and move my backup
protection to these drives. I had purchased three of them.
Within 1 month one of them would no longer work. (of course) I had a
choice, let several hundred go out the window or send in the drive for
them to repair. This means that EVERYTHING about my life I have on my
machine is now in the hands of someone I have no idea about their
honesty, if nothing else it is none of their business where I spend my
money, what my credit card numbers are, all my music, family photo's,
wills of all types, estates I have settled, SS numbers, Quicken,
Morgan Stanley, National City....on and on I could go.
The very thing I was trying to prevent I willingly handed over to
another person(s).
Is there ANY way using TimeMachine, Apple's Backup, or SuperDuper to
encrypt the backup? I never want to do this again and I may be safe
with this but then again I may not be, or it may come back to haunt me
years down the road.
If none of these backups will encrypt will the forthcoming Retrospect
8 for the Mac?
Need your suggestions.
John
