Jane,
In Apple's email all you have to do is go under "file" and click on
"save" and the email is automatically saved as a text file. Easy as
that.
The file will be saved to whatever location you want be it the
desktop, a folder on the desktop or inside the documents folder.
Since you use Thunderbird I can't specifically help as I use Apple's
mail and I wanted you to see how easily the problem could be solved
for you.

Hello All,
Does anyone know a reliable program that will automatically convert
email to text files?
I'm finishing up with a client and want to save our emails over the
last
couple of years to text, in case my email program should decide to
quit
working or I want to refer to them later.
Another question:
If I want to burn their email folder to a disk, where would I find
it in
my computer?
I use Thunderbird.
TIA,
Jane Blake
