I'd be reinventing the wheel. There are many places where these things are documented on the Web. Installation of the software with MythDora or Mythbuntu is basically to start with a bare machine, boot the DVD and let it install. The only gotcha in the whole process is to check the MythTV docs online to make sure you have a compatible video card.
