Stuart I would be surprised if GarageBand would even run With a 500 mhz
processor.
GarageBand is needs speed and a LOT of hard drive to do anything.
A new Mac Mini would be a proper match for this application.

Subject: [MacGroup] question and need for iLife 06?

Hi all,

I recently got a "teardrop" iMac for my son (thanks again Dan) and I have a
question regarding software that can run on it. The iMac's specs are: 500MHz,
384 MB RAM, 20 GB HD, and it is running System 10.3.9.

I tried to install iLife 08 from a disc I have and it spit it right out. I am
assuming that is because it didn't meet minimum system requirements (either
that or I didn't ask nicely)... Will iLife 06 work? If so, does anyone out
there have it for a reasonable price?

Aside from doing school work on the iMac, my son is a young musician and I am
eager to have GarageBand up and running for him!

All help/thoughts appreciated!

Stuart
