I have 3 printers, 2 Epson, 1 HP. I like them all, they all were gifts with computers I bought, so I was not choosy. One old Epson the company replaced for free. i had some issues with it. The small HP is newer, runs faster, I also can use that European size paper, and copies last page first .I always get some freebies with both, the last one a ream of inkjet paper ( $10.00) with my double cartridge saving me a third. I do not do much photo printing, but the HP has been good there, too. I wish my Epsons were smaller, but i have not got one in at least eight years except that replacement, so i am not knowledgeable . I have the feeling there is a good competition going on between the two companies, thus always these special offers.

Do printer manufacturers actually design printers or do they design ink delivery systems?

The latter. Without a doubt.

That said I love my R200 and use it a lot. I use an HP laser for all my basic b&w stuff, but when I need color (my business promotion materials and my daughters' school projects) or a CD printed, the Epson is the trick.

That's why I'm taking your cartridges off your hands. ::-)
