During a work-trip to Aruba last year, I ended up just buying a cellphone in that country, as my carrier charges would have been astronomical to use the service there. All depends on how many calls you need to receive/make while travelling, John has a good idea there, not sure though, as Bill mentioned, if you need to jail-break your phone to use the foriegn card.
