Some people claim that one of the reasons Apple jettisoned Google maps is
because Google was using the crowdsourcing from those millions of iPhones to
improve the maps on Android while just passing crumbs back to iOS.

Most of the time, I use Waze or GPSDrive, anyway. I found Waze, in particular,
to be most useful this construction season because it allowed me to avoid the
worst of the traffic snarls and its maps are very good.
