Harry, I don't have Uverse but oh my have I ever heard a lot of bad about it. Can't speak first hand.
Also, you do have to use their router and if there is a problem I understand you lose everything, TV, phone, internet. Maybe it would be the same with Insight if I had all three with them, I suppose.
