Hi All,

I really appreciate everyone's input. Does anyone have Dish Network or Direct TV? Do either of them cover computer as well as phone?

My Insight connections are fairly stable. It's just the price that horrifies me. Their entry price for new customers is $90 a month (half price). If they can do that, why do they charge their regular customers twice as much? Ans: Because they can.

We switched our home connections to UVerse (from Insight) about three weeks ago, and it's been a mixed bag. On the one hand, we're saving a little money. The internet connection speed is about the same as it was with Insight. They claim a 17 Mb download speed for our level of service; we usually get in the 10-12 range. The television reception, however, has been problematic. Initially, we were having problems with long screen freezes (and this during one of U of L's NCAA tournament games! Aaaargh!), but they came out and tweaked it and made it some better, but we still get momentary freezes that interrupt the flow of the program.

Actually, I have no complaints (yet) about their service or the speed of getting a technician to our house. One of the technicians was very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of useful information about how UVerse works. Then again, I never had any major problems with Insight's service either; it was just their pricing that ended up driving us off.

Maybe the good service is only because we're new customers and they're giving us special attention. We'll see.

Dan

Maybe we can get Google Fiber.:) Everyone loves to hand over all their privacy of a high speed data connection.:)

Sorry Ed,

Don't want to be a hater. Just really believe in customer service and well, being kind and offering a good product or service. Umm AT&T ain't on that list for me.

I have become disillusioned with Verizon as well. And since I will be traveling over seas more often Verizon and my large bill doesn't work there. So I refuse to pay more to have that service when other cellular companies offer that at no extra charge.

Like I said takes all kinds to make the world go round.

From what I can see everyone hates all the carriers. :)

In all fairness I despise AT&T and refuse to give them any money,
so take what I say with a grain of salt.

    Hello All,

I currently have (and have had for years) Bellsouth (AT&T???)
dsl. A friend recently upgraded his dsl to Uverse.

I don't have cable nor do I wish to get cable.

    So, any thoughts on Uverse?

    Thanks.

    Harry
