I have had Mavericks running on two machines (mini, laptop) for a week or so.
The operating system itself is very solid — no crashes — and just feels faster
than Mountain Lion on both machines. The biggest interface difference for me is
they finally fixed multiple monitor support, which has been hobbled for years.

Most everything worked. The Mail Act-On plug-in for mail doesn't work. Path
Finder freezes.

On the down side — the new iWork programs are a big step backward from their
predecessors.

For example, I switched over to Numbers for my minimal spreadsheet use a while
back. I had written a few simple scripts to do some sorting. Numbers no longer
supports scripting. And the sort operation is just plain busted. I can’t find
any way to sort a selection; it will sort the whole column or row all the time.
This is just plain unacceptable in a modern spreadsheet.

I rarely use Pages, but I've read the newest version also has no scripting.

Apple also changed the file formats in both Pages and Numbers. I had to export
it into a Numbers 09 format to use an older Numbers on my data. (At least they
have this export option. Somebody at Apple must have realized there would be
problems.)

I moved over to Numbers because I wanted the versatility of being able to open
my files on both the Mac and iPad. It looks like I'll be moving back to one of
the Open Office or Libre Office spreadsheets.
