Anne, I use Yosemite so this may be a little different.
Go to your library folder in your home folder….With Yosemite you hold down the Option Key and click on the “GO” header. Once there click on Library, then mail, then when “V2” opens you get a list of what you will want to highlight and then hit TimeMachine to take you back to where you can restore.
