With the recent iOS 8.4 upgrade, Apple moved audiobooks from the Music app to iBooks. This was a logical move, and I have no quarrel with it. But the move was completely botched. Here’s what I’ve experienced:
• The time slider for a chapter is always stuck at 0:00. • If the playback has been stopped for a while, when it’s restarted it will jump to the beginning of a seemingly random chapter. • After being heard, chapters are not marked as played. It seems as though they were so busy trying to get the new music stuff out the door that they never took the time to check iBooks. Sloppy! I now need a new audiobook player. Any suggestions? (Don’t suggest Audible’s player!
