John and Alex thanks for the responses. John, I guess I just got used to it, but it seemed like it made more sense to go through and only check those messages you wanted to keep to lock them and then I could hit the single delete key and remove the rest of the thread. With the iPhone I have to check everything I want to delete which just seems tedious since I delete more than I keep.
Alex, right now I don't have access to a Mac with an OS high enough to work with my iPhone, other than my work computer, and I don't want to use that computer for my personal messages. My personal laptop is still running Lion, so I'm pretty much stuck with managing things on my iphone or iPad at this point. Guess I'll pull up my big girl panties and deal with it, but was just curious if there was a better way. :-) Thanks again for your input and suggestions!
