Lee, thanks for confirming my suspicions.
Yes, occasionally I need to [securely] wipe a file or two. My system is older and all disks, plus externals, are HDs, with no SSDs. (Reluctant to modernize, and broke to boot.) To regain access to the srm function in Terminal, I had to revert to MacOS X El Capitan (ver. 10.11.6) from my system backup. I’ll need to pull out an extra HD to use as a new backup for the system update to Sierra. All I have to do is find the stored equipment. < SIGH > -russ preston _______________________________________________ MacGroup mailing list Posting address: [email protected] Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/> Answers to questions: <http://erdos.math.louisville.edu/macgroup/>
