Yes, I used the 7i90 with epp firmware and it worked as expected.

I used it with several stock firmwares
I burned the (customized by PCW) bit file and tested with real life machine
(steppers, PWM, GPIO, etc)

Uploaded the 7i90_spi_svst8_4.bit with mesaflash (compiled from source)
and verified with mesaflash (--verify)
Showed everything OK.

No, I did not do this step, I don't know how to check it.

I am not a mesa expert, but I built/retrofitted more than 10 systems with
different mesa cards (Mesa 5i25 PCI)
<http://lclab.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/P1020993.jpg>several with 7i43
and 7i90 as well, mills and lathes, with LinuxCNC and Machinekit.
Also published HOWTOs regarding basic usage of Mesa cards for beginners on
my site in Hungarian. <http://linuxcnc.hu/?s=mesa>

I do not no lot about interal working of drivers and stuff, but from user's
perspective I tried to collect available information.

I am familiar with that, that's the reason why I not copied here the other
parts of log entries which I felt not relevant. I could be wrong...

Anyway, I am happy to learn from wise people and appreciate any help in
this direction.
