I started on Machinekit Nov 21 the day I found it.
Used "Getting Started" on your website for installing.
Fresh downloads installs of debian stretch for every
install of Machinekit using the terminal.
Only Machinekit rt-reempt for stretch.
The systems have been both P4 64bit and two amd64 4core.
On the P4 the linuxcnc.log and terminal output was the same as
the one posted here. I will download and install again and attach
the files asap.
If it is the same - no need
On the amd64 4core I think the problem is that it's not using
re-reempt but posix.
What problem, you haven't described one

Either you are running a rt-preempt kernel or you aren't.
'uname -a' will tell you what kernel is running, make sure you are downloading packages
for that flavour kernel.

One post I read said to try flavor, in /usr
/libexec/linuxcnc to find out if re-reempt is installed, but all I
get is command not found.Same result for 'sudo make setuid'.

Why would you run that command if you are downloading packages?

Because of this maybe the website install is not complete.
Tonight I did a fresh download/install of debian stretch and
machinekit rt-reempt on an amd64 4core system with the
same results as the other amd64 4core.
Which is what?

There is no problem with amd64.
If your video card works with linuxcnc, it will work with machinekit.

The reason we had no idea there was any problem is because
amd64 and armhf work fine.
Only when someone who uses i386 notified problems did it become apparent.

I will run it again and
attach the files. I also read that the video card drivers can
effect Machinekit. Is it the drivers or the hardware? I booted
the P4 on the Linuxcnc drive and ran it and moved around
the axis and loaded/ran a large file with no problem. The P4
has been running my plasma table for at least 4 years
perfectly so it's solid.

I want this to work... need it...
