Fusion 360 does its calculations in the cloud, so it actually doesn't necessarily mean you need a high-end PC or Mac. However the idea is that there will be a number of preset cam files that the user of the CNC could choose from. After they chose one of the preset files (normally a type of joint) the scanning would take place, and then alter the CAM file to fit the work piece of bamboo. Does that help clarify?
