IE now keeps track of the height of the Dock, but the behavior you
describe is not desirable. We are using a standard Mac OS X API which
appears to have some issues. I'll file a bug with Apple on this.

Subject: Really annoying window resize in IE for OS X
Hi,
After upgrading to the latest update of IE for OS X, I noticed a really
annoying interaction between IE and the dock. (I didn't play with IE
much
before the upgrade, so I don't know if this behavior was introduced in
this
build).
I keep the dock hidden, but when I command-tab between apps, the dock
pops
up to indicate which app you're tabbing to. The problem is that when the
dock pops up, IE resizes its windows to move out of the dock's way.
That's
super annoying since the dock just pops back down again, and I just have
to
resize the IE window to get it back where I want it. I've noticed the
this
doesn't occur if I pop up the dock by just dragging the cursor down to
the
bottom of the screen.
Would any of the Microsoft types on this list care to comment on whether
this is indeed a bug that can be fixed in a later release, or whether
this
was done intentionally?
