What gives?

One of the machines I tend somehow, in some way corrupts it's TCP/IP
settings either on shut-down or on startup.

B&W G3 System 8.6. Selection for a network printer or a server won't
work. Go into TCP/IP Control Panel and change from ethernet to whatever
and save settings. Goback into TCP/IP and change back to Ethernet and
DHCP Server and it works.

I understand why doing that makes it work again. What I DON'T understand
is why I would have to do it after every shut down and re-boot?

Norton and TechTool have both been run and gave their blessings.

Any thoughts please?

John B.
