But a hardware device won't enable the printer to work over Appletalk/IP will it? That is really the trick I am facing. Not how to bridge a Localtalk printer into Ethernet, but rather how to bridge a non TCP/IP capable printer to work over a router that only passes TCP/IP. The whole source problem is that an Appletalk capable router is being replaced with one that is not Appletalk capable, and the client wants everything to continue to work as it already does. So they want to be able to just hop into the chooser, pick the zone they want, and then see the servers and printers in that zone. So I need to find a way to migrate the AppleTalk Zones, Appleshare servers, and AppleTalk printers into a pure TCP/IP network. I think I have the zones and the servers ironed out (AppleShare/IP looks like it will handle that, now I'm crossing my fingers the client already has that version running). But I'm still stumped on the printers. Even the TCP/IP capable ones won't work exactly the same as I will have to create Desktop Printers using LPR for them. This means a loss of the direct Chooser flexability. And I still have no way of putting the older non TCP/IP capable printers on at all. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> -- MacNetwork is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
