1. Getting a Windoze AND Mac compatible keyboard (Logitech makes a
nice multimedia keyboard that has keys for both platforms).

No, its not a *requirement*. I'm using a mac usb keyboard (macalley ikey) on a windows/linux box through a KVM and have been for a year or so. True, I could probably should buy a new keyboard but, this one works fine.. got two for 5 bucks at the swap meet... Anyway, The *only* difference is the apple[windows] and option[alt] keys are switched, In other words, the "windows" key is where the option key is on a mac, and the pc-option key is where the apple key is on a mac. I never use the windows key, and rarely use the option key. All of the other keyboards work as normal.

In the end though, it sounds like you want to use an imac screen. Theoretically, you can do it if your willing to put it under the knife and munge with the internal cables and run them through the KVM. Of course, not for the feint of hear.

On a side note - I know that opening up CRT's is dangerous business - but what about LCD's? Just wondering.

thanks,
Ian Sidle
