Sorry for getting into this discussion at such a late point, but I am on
vacation  :-)

I didn't see you mention which version of Windoze you'll be using, but if it
is any Server version, you might want to try Microsoft's Remote Desktop
Connection.

With this nifty app you can, after setting up the Windoze box, connect
directly from your Mac.
