A long-time OEM may be picking up additional orders from the mothership

Bloomberg quotes a Commercial Times report as saying that Hon Hai Precision (known as
Foxconn in the US) expects to start producing the iBook laptop for Apple.

According to the report, Hon Hai has hired away 10 engineers from current iBook OEM
Alpha-Top and plans to scalp additional talent in coming weeks. Additionally, the
company has said it intends to build an LCD-manufacturing plant in Taiwan.

Hon Hai is the manufacturer of Apple''s eMac and the original iMac. It also
manufactures key components used in the new LCD iMacs.
