dyndns has a tool that monitors your WAN IP and updates dyndns when it changes. This is free. It is called DynDNS Updater, and while it does require that a computer is running, it is seamless. Maybe not as seamless as the Airport's WAD service. I already pay for mobile me, as I find what it provides well worth the price.
