dyndns has a tool that monitors your WAN IP and updates dyndns when it changes. 
This is free. It is called DynDNS Updater, and while it does require that a 
computer is running, it is seamless. Maybe not as seamless as the Airport's WAD 
service.

I already pay for mobile me, as I find what it provides well worth the price. 
If I had an Airport, I'd be using it for address resolution as well, but I 
would certainly not spend $100/year (or even $60) just for that.

I don't understand what you are asking there, but my Comcrap router does not 
allow BackToMyMac to work.
