It's less to do with whether the hardware or the software supports
multitasking --- because it easily does.  It's more to do with the
fleshy part of the iPad equation: the end user.  Human beings have
serious issues with driving cars and texting on iPhones.  People are 
not ready for significantly more multitasking on the iPad???
