I'd say you don't really understand what this appliance is meant for.  And make 
no mistake it is an appliance.  It is not a laptop or a computer in the classic 
sense.  It's a computing appliance. Looking at the form factor how would video 
conferencing work?  You'd either need to setup a stand or hold it up in front 
of your face.  The latter would not be comfortable and the former takes it out 
of your hands.  People want features without thinking about how they would be 
properly implemented.  

I'd like to be able to have some apps - like music and the like - running in 
the background but really I don't see as huge a need.  If the app switching is 
seamless and quick then it would reduce the need.  And really this is what 
people are talking about not actual multi-tasking but the ability to background 
a process.
