Agreed - if anything Services is a lot more useful in 10.6 than it has 
been in prior OS X versions. Why make it this accessable unless Apple 
wanted to make it easier/quicker for people to use? 

[also, fwiw, my system, a 2-month old iMac, doesn't exhibit the weird 
behavior of requiring more than 3 services in any one group to be checked 
for them to show up in the context menu; also this system is clean of APE 
and other "haxies". 3rd party software like CSSEdit, OmniFocus, Adium, 
etc, but nothing system-changing unless you could Macports.]

On a 27" monitor having Services appear as a right click saves a lot of 
time visiting the Apple menu or remembering obscure shortcut key combos!
