when i have many tabs open each page with a little JavaScript adds up to
exactly what you said, yucko (and battery drain); i suppose this would
be worse on slower machines too; it's nothing new but seems a tad worse
on 5.0.1, at least for me on 2.5GHz c2d and 10.5.8; i find it feels good
to turn javascript off for long stretches
