I'm especially enamored with the server variant.
I'm waiting on the variant that has a solid-state drive. Currently
the laptop drive inside limits the mini to an operating environment
of 95 degrees F max, which is too limiting for embedded purposes.
It just occurred to me that maybe it's possible to connect a 'solid
state' FW800 memory drive to the mini and boot from it, without the
need for an internal (spinning) hard drive? Then the mini would be
able to withstand higher operating temps... Perhaps?
I don't know anything about higher temps, but you could just swap the
drives out too. It is not that hard to do.
