Sounds more like the latter. Everything on the machine paused. However, there's not been a single issue since the reformat after the firmware update as yet. I'm running a surface scan on the drive and I copied 1.4TB onto it without a single hiccough. I did NOT zero out the drive or o a 'low level' format as on a 2TB volume that would have taken at least a full day and might not have told me anything. Now that there's been a lot of data moved to it without issue I can 1) point some sharepoints to it and read data from it over the next few days and 2) run a surface scan on it at the same time. Surface scan ETA to completion is 17:25:56 If it passes both of those, I think I will trust it with data again and figure that the firware update really did fix whatever issue it was. If it doesn't, I will get Seagate to replace it. -- Please to meet you, Rose.
