Hi All, My MacBook Pro (with only 4GB) has been running quite slow lately and, particularly, I've noticed Safari has become really slow, even to switch between tabs and/or close tabs (taking many seconds, e.g 5-10).
This is probably due to tabs/windows being in separate processes (or so I believe). I have also installed a few extensions (duplicate tab, exposé view, automatic status bar), but nothing serious or buggy I thought. However, the other day I noticed Safari was using 2GB of *real* memory. Ouch! This may be due to a leaky extension, separate processes, heavy pages, I don't know. Anyway, I've jumped boat to Firefox for a while and everything is fast again, in the browser and on the MacBook, although I miss my sync'ed bookmarks, and the fit-and-finish of Safari, e.g. it's Top Sites page is brilliant. I'm even considering jumping to Firefox 4 (Beta 7) which is supposed to be 3x as fast as Firefox 3 (wrt Javascript etc.) Anyone else experiencing similar?
