what definition of "services" are we talking about? Lingon is a launchd editor; i thouht Jean-Christophe wanted to write services as in the "Services Menu"

I wish it were possible to write services directly outside of Automator (like 
with AS perhaps) but that looks like quite an endeavor...

it sounds like writing ObjC code is not what you want to do; consider AppleScriptObjC as a wrapper; here's someone apparently succeeding in registering an AppleScript as a service this way
