Hi Steve, One of the hard drives is used for Time Machine backups of my main drive, so I have a backup system in place, as long as that drive is not failing.
I was wondering whether something might be polling a drive. I do not recall installing anything lately (except SMART Utility!), but the sysadmins might have pushed stuff onto our machines.
