If you create a bootable image from the Lion installer that you got from the Mac App Store, will that image work when installing on a drive that does not already have Snow Leopard installed? ie: is the installer a full Lion installer?
I bought a Crucial 8GB thumb drive and partitioned it - 1 partition for a Recovery partition using Apple's assistant 1 partition for a bootable image of InstallESD.dmg from the Lion installer package I got from MAS. I had read you could install Lion from a USB drive (or other) using InstallESD.dmg onto a fresh newly, formatted drive, but I've also heard the only way to get a full installer that does not require Snow Leopard is to buy Apple's new USB Lion thumb drive for $79. Anybody know? Thanks Kevin _______________________________________________ MacOSX-talk mailing list [email protected] http://www.omnigroup.com/mailman/listinfo/macosx-talk
