yes it does, until you realize you are locked in to following Apple's OS wherever it goes; even ignoring how 10.7 makes some uncomfortable changes, it is technically awkward for us — i do work with a tool that maxes out at 10.5.8, and we will also be forced to replace a serviceable PowerPC machine in order to keep everything on the same syncing service

As a Mac user with iOS devices, It just makes sense to use iCloud  / Apple 
services to keep everything smooth and sync'd up.

it's not smooth when services are repeatedly revamped (as calendaring and email have been even before iCloud); the rework one has to do to adjust several devices each time Apple does this is the exact opposite of the continuity and reliability one should expect from such services; very "un-Apple", if you will
