The extra characters are time stamps for incremental backups, not full backups. 
The folder should be a named JUST the UDID.

I don't know if it is stiller equipped, but it certainly didn't work for me 
otherwise trying to resort my 3GS back in the day…

It should, the way the directory named is composed is a SHA1 of the 
applications name and the path, so it shouldn't changed.

For future reference 1) iCloud backups are the shit and 2) backup more often to 
your computer ;P
