Sorry to resurrect an old-ish (and slightly off-topic) thread, but can anyone who has used one of the Mikrotiks comment on the security of the embedded RouterOS? I looked at the description and it sounds like a great little box, but I haven't been able to find much info (either way) on the security aspects of the firmware. The only thing I found that seems relevant is this: http://felinemenace.org/~andrewg/MikroTik_Router_Security_Analysis_Part1/ ... but that's over five years old, so I'm not sure how relevant it is anymore. I ask because I live in an area where people have been known to wardrive regularly, build pringle-can 2.4GHz antennas just for fun, etc. So while I can satisfy myself about the "hardness" of various third-party firmwares like DD-WRT, OpenWRT, and the like, none of those seem to support the RB751G, so I'd need to rely on the stock firmware. Again, my apologies if this is too far off-topic. Thanks in advance. -H _______________________________________________ MacOSX-talk mailing list [email protected] http://www.omnigroup.com/mailman/listinfo/macosx-talk
