Hi

sometimes, sh.. happens: for me, that was yesterday evening. I accidentally
deleted a folder containing a whole bunch of vital Applescripts. OK, I have a
backup from two days ago, but I made some changes yesterday I would like to
recover.

This incited me to try out various commercial products for file recovery like
StellarPhoenix, R-Studio, Data Rescue 3 (I own Data Rescue II, but this is a
bit an old software).
Although the deleted folder was on a small extra partition (not the boot
partition) and I immediately stopped writing to that partition, none of the
said products could provide me with a satisfactory result in demo mode. In
fact, one did not recover at all, and the other two did provide an incredible
choice of files which I never thought they should be here (like eg Hypercard
files, which I never ever used), and both did not provide a really user
friendly UI: modifying the search for File modules in the "Scan engine" tag in
Data rescue for example is just a pain and hard to understand, and both demo
output are just useless.

As these products are all around a 100 bucks (that means: not cheap), I'm
looking for a reliable alternative, but did soi far not find any.
Can somebody guide me to a reliable product?

Thanks
