I have tested this one, but it's not convincing at all:
First:
I could not activate the search for Applescript files (".scpt", that's the
files I'm looking for)
Second:
I did run Cleverfiles on the affected partition. This partition is 10 (ten) GB
in size, 2.5 GB are used, 7.5 are free.
A Quickscan did not return a single deleted file.
A thourough scan makes Cleverfile pretend having found files of a total size of
about 300 (yes, three hundred) GB. This let me guess that Cleverfile is not
only looking in the partition (as the software pretends) but scans the whole
drive (500 GB) with 6 partitions
Third:
Cleverfiles found files for more than ten kinds of filetypes, which had never
ever been on this partition, eg. FMP11 files, emlx files asf.
Fourth
Cleverfile displays the files found just with generic names like
"file0000.textclipping" (if I would look for eg textclipping files). Hard to
see, which is the file I would look for.
Summary
Cleverfiles has maybe a nice UI, but seems definitely not be something
usable/reliable
