In all fairness, the problem may have been exacerbated by the barely functional 
battery. The iPad would often go *poof* back to the dead battery icon, etc. I 
think I was very, very lucky to have resuscitated the battery. But yeah, my 
thumb got *very* tired, esp. not knowing if the iPad would ever get to the 
Restore screen!
