Yes, I have tried that. That's why I can only use the standard PHP, because I 
can't get any of the other version to compile with any versions of apache. If 
someone knows how, i'd love to know, because I can certainly get mod_perl going 
on ANY version of apache, it's easy.

I guess that is a question for the PHP list though, as my original question of 
getting libapreq going on the standard apache seems to be impossible.

I think it's time to bug the PHP list instead :)
